John Juanda

John Juanda, born on 8th July, 1971, is a Chinese Indonesian professional poker player who currently stays in California. He came to United States first in the year 1990 where he joined the Oklahoma State University. He further went on to get his MBA degree from Seattle University.  His card spree win started off in the year 2001 where he was chosen as the Player of the year for the Card Player Magazine due to his spectacular winning of four World Series of Poker Championship titles and also a World Open Poker Championship. His winnings knew no end as they continued year after year. In the year 2004, he won the Professional Poker Tour at the Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut.

He went on to play higher bets and in 2005 won about 500 thousand dollars at the Monte Carlo Millions Consolation Tournament held at Monaco. His winning spree at Monaco never ended there and he went on to being placed second at the live poker event organized by The Full Tilt Poker dot Net. He currently has 5 World Series of Poker bracelets to his name and each of them go as follows:

  • Year 2002- Triple Draw Low ball where he won 1500 dollars.
  • Year 2003- Seven Card Stud Hi Lo where he won 2500 dollars.
  • Year 2003- He went on to win the Pot Limit Omaha with a pot size of 2500 dollars.
  • Year 2008- No Limit Texas Hold’em Poker, this was the main event. His total winning was near about 10 thousand dollars.
  • Year 2011- 2 and 7 Draw Low Ball Championship of 10 thousand dollars.

Besides the World series of Poker tournaments, John Juanda has also managed to make it to the final of the World Poker tournament for 6 times. However he has never been lucky after that and till date does not have a single World Poker Tournament Championship to his name. He has gone up to finishing 2nd at the 1st season of World Poker Tournament which was held at Bellagio. His worst was when he finished 8th on the final table at the 5th Season.

John Juanda has made plenty of cash through World Series of Poker winnings. He has a total of 3 million nine hundred and two thousand dollars currently in his live account and is currently ranked at 8th on the overall list of World Series of Poker cash wins. He has made a number of fans through his game play but has also generated an equal number of critics.
