Poker Bill Introduced In Virginia

State Senator Louise Lucas introduced a bill to legalize poker in Virginia.

The bill was introduced by the senator in the beginning of January. The bill, S 1400, says to amend the law that considers poker as illegal gambling. The bill asks to keep poker as exception from other games and allow it to play without any hiccups.

Presently, according to the government of Virginia, the illegal gambling is termed as the placing, receipt or the making of any wager or bet in the money’s Commonwealth or value of other things, made in exchange to get a chance to earn a stake, prize or any other consideration or of value, it is dependent upon the outcome of any contest, game or any other event. The latest company to jump on the bandwagon is YapStone which is a startup company in financial technologies. The CEO and founder Tom Villante states how he got the idea. He talks about how he had been an investment banker and a partner in a private equity firm. He had been playing poker with his friends and discussing about what kind of business they could start. He recalls how they talked about PayPal and about payments moving away from checks. Hence he decided to start YapStone. The company was to look into large apartment rent finances and accounting. Today the company has moved to allow payment online for transactions related to vacation homes. They have tied up with different real estate companies as well.

PokerStars EPT Grand Final Main Event Day 2: Schemion Leads, Daniel Negreanu eliminated

There are 114 players remain in the Monte-Carlo Casino European Poker Tour Grand Final after day 2 in the €10,600 Main Event.

The bunch of players included those who coming from Days 1a and 1b in a field starting with a total of 310 players and also the nine players who entered before the second day’s start of play. The group of nine had players like Daniel Negreanu, Max Altergott Dzmitry Urbanovich, and Igor Kurganov. There were rumors of Phil Ivey registering on Day 2 but he did not appear.

The 564 players participating in the Main Event compared to the last year total of 650 is less when Antonio Buonanno won the title and the event still has a juicy pool €5,640,000 to be earned. The event will pay a total of 79 players with the minimum sum worth €19,175 where as the winner will take home more than a million, that is €1,082,000.

Ole Schemion, the GPI Player of the Year and German High Roller is the chip leader with 477,700 who beat compatriot Christopher Frank in a narrow margin who is standing second with 465,200. Later in the day Schemion also beat Igor Kurganov, his good friend on Day 2. Earlier the day he also beat Artem Metalidi when he sniffed out his bluff.  Schemion called when Metalidi betted 4000.  Check-check turned 5- spades, and   K-clubs and the board was completed on the river.
